El Paso drivers now have a visible daily reminder to be more cautious on the city's roadways with the El Paso Police Department's new traffic safety billboard on I-10 East at Piedras. The billboard displays, on an electronic counter, all deaths that have occurred on El Paso's streets since January 2007.

Minero Magazine recognized Minero Magazine, a bilingual student publication at UTEP, was recognized by the Texas House of Representatives, Nov. 7. Norma Chávez, state representative, sent the official certificate of recognition to congratulate the magazine for being named one of the top 15 student magazines in the country by the Associated Collegiate Press.
