California Governor Gavin Newsom Rejecting speculation that he might challenge President Biden for the Democratic nomination in 2024 — he reportedly told POTUS himself that he was “all in” on Biden’s re-election.
In an interview with Politico, Newsom tried to quell speculation that he might run for the Democratic nomination, after he drew “considerable” irritation from the White House over rumors that he was planning to oust Biden.
“I’m all in, count me in,” said Biden’s message in his re-election bid, adding, “I’ve told everyone in the White House from the chief of staff to the first lady.
Talk of a Newsom 2024 bid has erupted in recent months amid growing concerns among Democrats about Biden’s health, age and low approval ratings. Ron DeSantis has left some Democrats scrambling to find a potential replacement, and Newsom’s name has been floated as a possible option.

That concern was somewhat dispelled after Democrats’ stronger-than-expected performance in the November midterm elections, where Democratic fears of a Republican “red tide” came to nothing. Democrats hold the Senate, and even if they lose control of the House, Republicans will only hold a slim majority. As a result, Biden’s position appears stronger than it did in the summer.
Biden once said Post-election press conference His intention is to run for re-election and he will make a final decision early next year.
“I think everybody wants me to run, but we’re going to discuss that,” Biden said. “Hopefully Jill and I will have some time between Thanksgiving and Christmas to sneak away for a week, and I think we’ll make that decision early next year.”
Newsom fueled speculation by launching repeated public attacks on DeSantis and Texas Gov. Greg Abbott. But the governor, who won re-election comfortably in deep blue California, pulled out his motorcade near a Sacramento hotel on election night, called Biden, and personally expressed his support for his re-election bid.
“I’m all in; put me on the coach,” Newsom said. “We have your back.”
According to Politico, Newsom doesn’t want that Correspondent of the store to overhear the conversation, but he accidentally leaves the same hotel while taking the call.

The outlet reported that a Trump comeback has become a top priority for the party, explaining why Biden has been given so much time by his party in a difficult 2022. Now, one of his biggest potential primary threats is his full-back for Biden 2024 — specifically noting his record in defeating the former president.
“He didn’t just beat Trump once, I think he can beat him again,” Newsom said. “I hope he runs and I will support him enthusiastically.”
